 The Croatian Water Pollution Control Society is a voluntary, non-profit association of citizens and legal entities joined together to promote water protection and other forms of water management. The CWPCS was established in 1979 as the first environmental organization in this part of Europe. It was established by a group of enthusiasts at a time when water protection activity was in its infancy. |

| According to the Articles of Association, the highest body of the Croatian Water Pollution Control Society (CWPCS) is its Assembly, which consists of all individual members and of one representative of each legal entity. The Assembly elects the 11-member High Council for a period of two years. The High Council is an executive body governing the operations of the CWPCS. It has a chairman and a secretary. |
